Women's Ice Hockey Defeats Alvernia

READING, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's ice hockey team topped Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) foe, Alvernia, 3-1, on Friday night.
 
The Knights picked up their 10th win on the season, which ties their win total from their inaugural season a year ago.
 
Haylee Kos had a multi-point game as she scored a goal and added an assist. She is up to third on the team in goals with seven and fourth in points with 14 in her first season in Glenside.
 
Morganne Dee and Campbell Torrey also found the back of the net in the win. Dee is tied for the team lead in goals with nine and second on the team in points with 19. Torrey tallied a goal for the second consecutive game for the Knights.
 
Hannah Bergeron picked up her sixth victory of the season as the sophomore netminder made 27 saves and had a save percentage of .964.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Dee gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead as the sophomore forward scored just over two minutes into the game.
  • After a scoreless second period, Torrey extended the Arcadia lead to 2-0 with a score just 2:28 into the final period. Kos had the assist on the score.
  • Alvernia cut the Knights lead to 2-1 halfway through the third period, but Kos scored an empty netter for Arcadia to seal the victory. Maeve Hourihan tallied the assist on the game-sealing goal.
