Men's Volleyball Sweeps Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team swept Misericordia in straight sets on Wednesday night.
 
With the victory, the Knights improved to 13-6 overall, and 5-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play.
 
The Knights were led by Danny Gonzalez who tallied 12 kills and seven digs in the three-set win. Vaughn McConnell dished out a match-high 23 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

 
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Misericordia 18:
After the teams traded the opening 12 points, the Knights went on a 4-0 run to take a 10-6 lead. The Cougars battled back to tie the set at 17, but Arcadia closed on an 8-1 run, including taking seven straight points to win the opening set.
 
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Misericordia 18:
With the set tied at 13, the Knights went on a 7-2 run, giving them a 20-15 lead. The teams traded points in the final stages of the frame as Arcadia took a two-set lead in the match.
 
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Misericordia 23:
The Cougars jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but Arcadia bounced back, taking the lead at 11-8. The Knights maintained their lead, getting match point at 24-20. Misericordia fought off three match points, but Ryan Miller got the match-winning kill to close out the sweep for Arcadia.
