Box Score 2 AGLENSIDE - The Arcadia University softball team opened Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play with a doubleheader sweep of Wilkes University on Saturday, taking game one 4-1 before winning game two 7-0.
Juliana Presto struck out 14 batters in the first contest while
Paige Nolan allowed only one hit in the finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 4, WILKES 1
-The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when
Allison LaRochelle doubled to left scoring
Madi Costigan. Later in the inning,
Zoey Ritter brought home LaRochelle with a single to center.
-Wilkes cut the lead to one in the top of the fifth.
-Arcadia added two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a Colonel fielding error.
-Presto allowed one run on four hits with one walk and 14 strikeouts in the game.

-The Knights piled on seven runs in the bottom of the third with the help of two Wilkes errors.
-Arcadia loaded the bases with no outs and after a strikeout, Ritter brought in
Effie Jamanis for the first run on a fielding error.
-Sommer followed with an RBI walk scoring DiIanni.
-Sooy drove home Costigan and Ritter with a single to left making the score 4-0.

Devon Fithian followed with a single bringing home Sommer and Sooy.

Aleigha Parnell finished the scoring with a single to right scoring Fithian.
-Nolan tossed five scoreless innings, allowing one hit with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Amaia Smith pitched the final two innings.
