GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team fell to No. 5 Messiah in four sets on Wednesday night.
The Knights dropped their first match in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) play, dropping their record to 5-1. They are now 15-9 overall.
Danny Gonzalez led the Knights with 10 kills and two aces.
Owen Heft and
Andrew Ahn chipped in with eight kills each.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Messiah 21:
The Knights jumped out to a 9-4 lead, and later used a 7-2 run to take a 17-10 advantage. The Falcons won four consecutive points to cut Arcadia's lead to 20-17, but The Knights finished on a 5-3 run to take the opening set.
Set 2: Messiah 25, Arcadia 18:
Messiah used a 4-0 run to take a 14-10 lead. The Knights within two at 15-13, but that was as close as they got as the Falcons tied the match at one set apiece.
Set 3: Messiah 25, Arcadia 15:
A 12-3 run in the middle of the set proved to be the difference for Messiah in the set as it took a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4: Messiah 25, Arcadia 17:
The set was tightly contested throughout, but Messiah pulled away with a 7-2 run and closed out the set to win the match.
