Women's Lacrosse Kicks Off Conference Play With a Win Over Wilkes

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team opened Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play with a win, downing Wilkes, 15-8, on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field.
 
Morganne Dee and Campbell Torrey both found the back of the net four times in the victory. Dee added two assists to tally six points for the second consecutive game. Jordyn Chan scored a career-high three goals in the Arcadia win.
 
Emily Griffith made eight saves in her fourth win of the season in goal for the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Tessa O'Donnell and Chan scored the first two goals of the game to give the Knights an early 2-0 lead. However, Wilkes scored the next four goals to take the lead. A goal each from Torrey, Dee, Olivia Poley and Chan gave Arcadia a 6-4 lead at the end of the opening period.
  • The Colonels scored the first goal of the second quarter to cut their deficit to 6-5, but Torrey and Dee each scored in the frame to give the Knights an 8-5 lead after the opening 30 minutes of play.
  • Poley and Dee each found the back of the net in the third quarter to extend Arcadia's lead to 10-5.
  • Torrey (2), Dee, Chan and Cameron Curtiss all helped the Knights close out their win with goals in the fourth quarter.
