Men's Lacrosse Retains Bucks-Mont Hammer, Downs Delaware Valley, 22-7

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse topped Delaware Valley, 22-7, in the eighth annual Battle of the Bucks-Mont Hammer on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field.
 
The Knights retained the Bucks-Mont Hammer for the fourth straight year and improved their record to 6-2 overall in the series.
 
With the win, Arcadia improved its record to 5-1 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play and clinched a spot in the conference tournament.
 
Justin Chinici found the back of the net five times in the win, which was a game high. Brian Albertsen and Billy Burton each posted a game-high six points. Albertsen had three goals and three assists while Burton scored two goals and dished out four assists.
 
Brett Sciascia was 13-for-15 inside the faceoff circle and A.J. Dominguez won 10 of his 16 draws. Owen Tafe was perfect on the draw, winning both of his opportunities.
 
Nathaniel Hudgins picked up his sixth win of the season in goal and made five saves for the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Dylan Garber gave the Knights a 1-0 lead, but Delaware Valley tied the game at one halfway through the opening quarter. The Knights held a 2-1 lead at the end of the opening frame through a Landan Hajek goal.
  • Hajek's goal started a run that lasted through the second quarter as Arcadia outscored the Aggies, 4-0 in the frame to lead 6-1 at the end of 30 minutes of play.
  • The Knights' run continued in the third as they scored the first eight goals of the period. Arcadia outscored the Aggies, 10-3, in the frame as it led 16-4 at the end of the third quarter.
  • Arcadia won the fourth quarter, 6-3 to close out its 22-7 victory.
