DALLAS, Pa. - Trailing 5-1 going into the eighth inning, the Arcadia University baseball team rallied for five unanswered runs to take the first game of its final Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) series at No. 15 Misericordia University by a 6-5 final on Thursday afternoon. The Knights moved into first place by a half-game with the victory, the first home loss for the Cougars during the 2023 season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Misericordia jumped out to a 3-0 lead with two runs in the third and one in the fourth.

-Anthony Bruno got Arcadia on the board in the seventh with an RBI single to left scoring Alex Madera. With the RBI, Bruno set a new program single-season record with his 53rd, surpassing the previous record set by Sean Carew '19 in 2018.

-The Cougars increased their lead to 5-1 with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

-Trey Obarowski hit a pinch-hit RBI single to left in the eighth bringing in Matt Donchez

-Madera walked with the bases loaded scoring Hunter Curley before Obarowski came in to score on a fielder's choice off the bat of Emilio Pallante, making the score 5-4.

-After a perfect bottom of the eighth from Hunter Sibley, Obarowski came up big with a bases-loaded single scoring Justin Massielo.

-Nick Bon Tempo followed with a sacrifice fly allowing Matt Donchez to give the Knights their first lead of the game.

-Misericordia got the tying run to third with one out in the bottom of the ninth but Sibley was able to slam the door and vault Arcadia to first place in the standings.
