Runyen Named Director of Campus Recreation

GLENSIDE - The Arcadia University Department of Athletics and Recreation has announced the hiring of Brittany Runyen as the Director of Campus Recreation. Runyen will begin her duties on July 6.

"I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to become a member of the athletic department and
campus community at Arcadia," Runyen said. "I would like to thank the entire hiring committee for their time and efforts throughout this process."

Runyen comes to Arcadia after serving as the Coordinator of Athletics Student Programming at Cabrini University. In this position, Runyen was responsible for game-day management, event staffing, weekly reporting of events to campus, collaboration with officials and visiting teams, advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and other duties. During her time at Cabrini, Runyen also served as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach.

"We are looking forward to having Brittany join the Arcadia community," Executive Director of Athletics Brian Granata said. "The search committee was impressed with her diverse skill set, passion for Division III athletics, and drive to positively impact the lives of students on campus. We are confident that she will be a quality addition to our unit."

"What really excites me about Arcadia is the energy surrounding student involvement on campus, as well as the vision the department has in further enhancing the student-athlete experience," Runyen continued. "The collaborative culture within the department and on campus is awesome, and I can't wait to get started."

Runyen graduated from Cabrini with a Bachelor's in English & Secondary Education in 2018. While at Cabrini, Runyen was a four-year member of both the women's soccer and women's basketball programs, and is currently pursuing her Master's from Cabrini in Science of Leadership.
