GLENSIDE, Pa. –The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Kean in three sets on Friday afternoon inside Alumni Gymnasium.
The Knights fell to 1-5 with the defeat.
Nicole Dallara led the Knights with eight kills. Estefania Martinez-Sola had a double-double with 15 assists and 10 digs.
KEAN 3, ARCADIA 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Kean 25, Arcadia 23:
The Knights held an early 10-7 lead before Kean tied the game through a 3-0 run. With the set tied at 15, the Cougars won four straight points to take a 19-15 lead, but Arcadia answered with a 5-0 run, taking a 20-19 lead. Kean went on a 3-0 to take a 23-21 lead and went on to trade points to the end of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Kean 25, Arcadia 19:
The Cougars opened the set on an 11-1 run. The Knights fought back to get within three points at 22-19, but Kean closed the set on a 3-0 run to take the second set in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Kean 23:
Kean held an early 5-1 run, but the Knights took seven of the next eight points, giving them an 8-6 lead. Kean erased its deficit and eventually led 14-13. The teams then traded runs throughout the middle stages of the set. Kean used a 6-1 run to take a 23-19 lead. The Knights won three consecutive points, cutting their deficit to one at 23-22, but Kean won two of the final three points to win the set and the match.
