Women's Volleyball Drops Final Matches at Arcadia Quad Match

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team fell in both of its matches on Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Gymnasium. The Knights fell to Muhlenberg in three sets and Stevenson in four.
 
Estefania Martinez-Sola recorded double-digits in kills in both matches, tallying 11 against Muhlenberg and a season-high 16 against Stevenson. She also added 14 assists and 18 digs against Stevenson for her first triple-double of the season.
 
Katie Paoli had a double-double against Stevenson, tallying 10 kills and 13 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Set 1: Muhlenberg 25, Arcadia 23:
The Knights got out to an 11-7 lead in the opening frame, but the Mules tied the game at 14 through a 7-3 run. Arcadia retook the lead at 20-15, winning five of the next six points, but Muhlenberg closed the frame on a 10-3 run to take the opening set.
 
Set 2: Muhlenberg 25, Arcadia 22:
The teams battled back and forth, leading to a 15-14 Muhlenberg lead halfway through the middle set. The Mules went on a 4-1 run, giving them a 23-19 lead, but the run was answered by a 3-0 run by the Knights, cutting their deficit to 23-22. Muhlenberg took the final two points of the set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
 
Set 3: Muhlenberg 25, Arcadia 15:
Muhlenberg held a 14-6 lead, but its lead was cut in half through a 4-0 Knights' run. The Mules closed the frame on an 11-5 run giving them the set and the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Set 1: Stevenson 25, Arcadia 17:
The Knights held an early 6-5 lead, but Stevenson used a 5-0 run to take a 10-6 lead. Arcadia bounced back to tie the set at 12, but the Mustangs closed the set on a 13-5 run to take the opening frame.
 
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Stevenson 20:
The teams battled back and forth, which led to Stevenson holding a late 20-19 lead, but the Knights ended the set on a 6-0 run to tie the match at one.
 
Set 3: Stevenson 25, Arcadia 10:
Stevenson took hold of the set through an 11-1 run, giving it an 18-6 lead. The Mustangs continued their strong play in the closing stages of the set to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
 
Set 4: Stevenson 25, Arcadia 16:
The Mustangs got out to a 13-6 lead and never looked back in the frame as they won it and the match.
