SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped two matches at the Swarthmore Quad Match on Saturday. The Knights fell to both the hosts, Swarthmore, and Bowdoin, 3-0.
The Knights fell to 1-3 with the two losses.
In the match against Swarthmore, first-year
Alysa Dennison led the Knights with five kills.
Danielle Doyle led Arcadia with four kills in the loss to Bowdoin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Swarthmore 25, Arcadia 10:
The Garnet got out to an early 10-2 lead and continued their momentum through the opening set of the match as they took a 1-0 lead.
Set 2: Swarthmore 25, Arcadia 21:
The second set was tightly contested as the teams were tied at 12 in the middle part of the frame. After the Garnet took a one-point lead, the Knights won six consecutive points to take an 18-13 lead. However, Swarthmore ended the set on a 12-3 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Swarthmore 25, Arcadia 10:
Swarthmore won 11 of the opening 14 points of the set and continued to build its lead en route to winning the set and the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Bowdoin 25, Arcadia 13:
Bowdoin held an early 5-4 lead and grew that lead to 9-4 after a 4-0 run. The Polar Bears used more multi-point runs to grow its lead in the frame as they took the first set of the match.
Set 2: Bowdoin 25, Arcadia 22:
The Knights faced a 9-5 deficit in the second set but went on to take a 13-12 lead through an 8-3 run. Arcadia held a two-point lead at 21-19, but the Polar Bears closed the frame on a 6-1 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Bowdoin 25, Arcadia 17:
A back and forth opening to the set ended as the Polar Bears took three consecutive points, giving them a 14-9 lead. The Knights got within three points of the lead, but Bowdoin closed out the set to win the match.
