Feldman Records First Hat Trick in Program History as Men's Ice Hockey Tops Alvernia, 5-4

COLMAR, Pa. – Donnie Feldman recorded the first hat trick in program history as the Arcadia University men's ice hockey team downed Alvernia, 5-4, on Saturday night at Hatfield Ice Arena.
 
The Knights picked up their sixth victory of the season and second in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) play.
 
Feldman was joined on the scoresheet by Mike Kocsis, who had two goals in the Arcadia victory. Kocsis added two assists for a game-high four points.
 
Ryan Burgess manned the net for Arcadia and made 33 saves in his fourth victory of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Alvernia got the game's first tally halfway through the opening period, but Feldman tied the game at one with just over a minute remaining in the frame to the the score at one.
  • The Golden Wolves regained the lead in the second period with a shorthanded goal.
  • Kocsis then began a streak of three goals in two minutes as he converted on the power play for his first goal of the game. Alvernia then added another shorthanded goal to take a 3-2 lead, but Kocsis once again struck on the power play, tying the game at three with 30 seconds remaining in the second period.
  • Feldman got his second score of the game seven minutes into the third period to give Arcadia a 4-3 lead.
  • Alvernia tied the game at four, five minutes later, but Feldman gave the Knights the lead for good as he finished off his hat trick a minute and a half later. Arcadia killed off a late penalty to hold on for the conference victory.
