Men's Volleyball Suffers Setback to No. 14 NYU

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team took the opening set of the match, but eventually fell to No. 14 NYU, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Gymnasium.
 
The Knights fell to 7-5 with the defeat.
 
The Knights had three players with double figure kill totals as Josh Clendening led the way with a career-high 15. Andrew Ahn added 12 kills and Danny Gonzalez had 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Set 1: Arcadia 25, NYU 22:
NYU took an early lead as the Violets went on a 6-1 run, giving them a 10-5 advantage. Arcadia fought back to get within two points at 16-14 through a 4-1 run. NYU built its lead back to three at 21-18, but the Knights closed the set on a 7-1 run to come from behind and take the first set of the match.
 
Set 2: NYU 25, Arcadia 9:
The Violets took nine of the first 10 points to take an early hold of the frame. They continued their strong play through the rest of the set to tie the match at one.
 
Set 3: NYU 25, Arcadia 20:
A back-and-forth start to the set saw the Knights take a 14-13 lead. NYU then went on a 9-1 run to take control of the frame. The Knights fought back to cut their deficit to four late in the set, but the Violets closed out the set to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
 
Set 4: NYU 25, Arcadia 19:
Both teams went on multi-point runs to start the set, which ended with a 4-0 run from NYU, giving it a 10-5 lead. NYU did not let the Knights get within less than four through the rest of the frame as it closed out the set and the match.
