WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team defeated Wilkes University 3-2 (22-25, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19, 15-12) in non-conference play on Tuesday evening.
FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia improved to 13-7 on the season.
-Wilkes fell to 13-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
-Tied at four, the Knights got the next three points to take a 7-4 lead.
-Arcadia led 13-9, but the Colonels tied the score at 14.
-The Knights led late at 20-18, but Wilkes finished the set with a 7-2 run.
SET TWO
-With the score tied at nine, Wilkes took the first extended lead at 11-9.
-The count was again knotted at 14 before an 8-1 streak gave the Colonels a 22-15 advantage.
-Arcadia battled all the way back to tie the score at 24, part of a 7-0 run for the overtime 26-24 victory.
SET THREE
-Wilkes broke a 9-9 tie with a 9-1 run to go ahead 18-10.
-The Knights cut the deficit to 20-17 before the Colonels took the set.
SET FOUR
-Trailing 14-13, Arcadia used a 4-0 run to go ahead 17-14.
-Wilkes tied the score at 19 before six straight points by the Knights sent the match to a deciding fifth set.
SET FIVE
-With the score tied at six, Arcadia outscored its opponent 9-6 to secure the match victory.
