GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team celebrated senior day with an 11-8 victory over Widener on Saturday evening at Jean Lenox West Field.
The Knights are now 4-5 on the year.
Tristan Johnson had a game-high three goals in the Arcadia win.
Billy Burton,
Dylan Garber,
Alex Adamczyk added two goals and
Kyle McLaughlin and
Lukas Santore both had one score.
Johnson also added a career-high three assists, giving him a new career best in points with six.
Nathaniel Hudgins entered the game in relief in goal and made two saves in his first win of the season.
Joseph Tesler got the start and made seven saves.
ARCADIA 11, WIDENER 8
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Garber and Johnson combined to give Arcadia an early 2-0 lead. Widener scored the last three goals of the opening quarter to lead after 15 minutes of play.
- The Knights got the next three goals through Johnson, McLaughlin and Garber to regain the lead at 5-3. Widener closed the half on a 2-0 run to tie the game at five heading into halftime.
- Burton scored the first goal of the third quarter to give Arcadia a 6-5 lead, but the Pride got the last two goals of the frame to lead 7-6 going into the last 15 minutes of action.
- Arcadia dominated the final quarter of action, outscoring Widener, 5-1, in the frame to come back to pick up its fourth win of the year.
