FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team came away with two wins in Saturday's tri-match, sweeping Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) foe Hood, and topping Saint Vincent in four sets.
The Knights are now 12-7 on the year and 2-0 in MAC play.
Danny Gonzalez opened the day with a 15-kill performance against Hood.
Trevor Johnson added 13 kills for the Knights in their conference match.
Gonzalez closed out the day with 23 kills against Saint Vincent.
Cameron Birch had a career-high 13 kills in the match and Johnson added 10. Gonzalez and Birch both had double-doubles as Gonzalez had 15 digs and Birch added 14.
Riley Kodidek had 86 total assists across the two matches.
ARCADIA 3, HOOD 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Hood 19:
The teams traded points, leading to a 9-9 tie. The Knights then went on a 6-1 run to gain some breathing room, leading 15-10. The Knights maintained its momentum from the run as it closed out the opening set for a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 27, Hood 25:
The Knights took the opening two points of the set, but Hood won five of the next six to take an early lead. Both teams went on runs through the middle of the set, which led to a 20-all tie. A back and forth ending concluded when the Knights took the final two points of the set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Hood 16:
Arcadia won eight of the first nine points of the set and extended their lead to 16-7. Hood then won six straight points to get within three, but the Knights closed the set on a 9-3 run to complete their sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Saint Vincent 25, Arcadia 22:
With the set tied at 13, Saint Vincent took the next five points. The Knights answered, winning six of the next seven to tie the set at 19. Saint Vincent then won the next four points, taking a 23-19 lead and went on to close out the opening set victory.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Saint Vincent 20:
The Knights grabbed an early advantage in the set after winning six of seven points, taking a 12-8 lead. Both teams then traded multi-point runs, allowing Saint Vincent to get within two points. That's the closest that it would get though in the rest of the frame as Arcadia tied the match at one.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Saint Vincent 18:
Arcadia held a one-point lead at 13-12, and then extended that lead to 17-12 through a 4-0 run. Saint Vincent did cut its deficit to 21-18, but the Knights took the final four points of the set to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4: Arcadia 25, Saint Vincent 18:
Saint Vincent won four of the opening five points, but the Knights went on a 7-2 run, grabbing an 8-6 lead. Saint Vincent cut its deficit to 16-15, but Arcadia took the next six points, and extended that to a 9-3 run to close out the fourth set and win the match.
