Men's Lacrosse Fends Off Second Half Run to Top Lebanon Valley

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play as it topped Lebanon Valley, 17-11 on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field. 

The Knights also improved to 7-5 on the year with the win. Arcadia has now won four games in a row. 

Billy Burton matched a career high wtih eight points on four goals and four assists. This is the second time this season that he has recorded eight points in a game. Alex Adamczyk also had four goals for the Knights in the win. 

Arcadia was dominant in the faceoff circle, winning 24-of-32 draws. Brett Sciascia was 14-for-17 on draws and A.J. Dominguez was 10-for-14 in the circle. 

Nathaniel Hudgins picked up the win in goal for Arcadia as he made six saves. Joseph Tesler entered the game at the start of the second half and made seven saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lukas Santore scored the game's first goal to give the Knights an early 1-0 win. Lebanon Valley then scored the next two goals, but Arcadia answered with a 6-0 run to take a 7-2 lead. The Dutchmen scored twice before the end of the period to get within three at 7-4 after the opening frame. 
  • The teams traded 2-0 runs in the second quarter as Arcadia led 11-6 after 30 minutes of play. 
  • Lebanon Valley scored the first four goals of the second half as it got within a goal at 11-10. The Knights answered back, scoring the last two goals of the quarter to lead 13-10 heading into the final frame. 
  • Arcadia outscored the Dutchmen, 4-1 in the final 15 minutes of action to take the conference win.
