No. 20 Baseball Sweeps Stevens, Advances to Third-Straight Conference Championship

AMBLER - Matt Donchez's bases-clearing double in the second paired with a fantastic outing on the mound by Nadell Booker helped the No. 20 Arcadia University baseball team top Stevens 6-3 in game two of the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Tournament, reaching the final after taking the series two games to none.

The Knights advance to their third-straight conference final after winning the last two seasons.

FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia moved its win streak to 14 games and now stands at 31-10 overall.

-Stevens finishes its season 24-16.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Stevens opened the scoring in the top of the second with an RBI double.

-Emilio Pallante tied the score in the bottom of the second with an RBI single that brought home Matthew Sot.

-Donchez followed later in the frame with a bases-clearing double to left-center, scoring Solomon Griffith, Pallante, and Gabe Diaz to make the lead 4-1.

-The Ducks battled back in the top of the eight with two runs to close the gap to 4-3.

-Justin Massielo and Griffith each brought in runs on the bottom of the inning to reach the final score.

-Booker pitched 7.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits with one walk and a career-high eight strikeouts.

-Cam Nebel got out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth and pitched a clean ninth to earn his seventh save.
