YORK, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches at the York (Pa.) Tri-Match on Saturday. In the opener against host York, the Knights (12-13, 2-3 MAC Freedom) fell in straight sets, 14-25, 18-25, and 11-25. In the second match of the day, the Knights battled but ultimately dropped a four-set decision to Salisbury, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24, and 25-12.

Set One: Arcadia 14 – York 25

The Knights fell behind early, 7-0, before responding with a 6-0 run behind several York errors and a kill from Nina Corazo.

Arcadia received kills from Kylie Strange and Chana Rothschild, as well as an ace from Kailyn Riggi, to narrow the deficit to 14-10.

The Knights took advantage of more York errors and added a kill from Devon Young, but the Spartans closed the set on a 5-0 run to take a 1-0 lead.
Set Two: Arcadia 18 – York 25

Arcadia started stronger in the second set, jumping out to a 2-0 lead with a Rothschild kill.

York responded with a 6-1 run to go ahead before kills from Rothschild and Young, along with an ace from Sydney Steiner, made it a one-point set. York then used a 5-0 run to push the lead to 12-6.

The Knights picked up aces from Callie McGuire, Rothschild, and Sarah Baker, but York maintained control and closed out the set, 25-18.
Set Three: Arcadia 11 – York 25

Arcadia took an early 3-1 lead with aces from Bryana Saenz and Young, followed by a kill from Maddie Gavin Ruple.

After back-to-back kills from Rothschild, York answered with a 3-0 run to go up 9-6.

Young added another kill, but York pulled away on an 8-1 run. Archelle tallied the final kill for Arcadia before York secured the set, 25-11, to sweep the match.

Salisbury opened the set with a 5-0 lead before Arcadia answered with a 4-0 run behind kills from Young and Hannah Sanchez, along with an ace from Young.

Two more kills from Rothschild and an ace from McGuire cut the deficit to 13-9.

Kills from Young and Saenz gave Arcadia an early 3-1 lead. Archelle and Rothschild added kills to push the Knights ahead, 11-8.

Behind more Salisbury errors and a block from Anna Keer, Arcadia extended its advantage to 15-13.

The Knights then used a 4-0 run with kills from Archelle and Rothschild to go up 22-17. Salisbury cut it to 22-20, but two Seagull errors and a final kill from Young secured the set, 25-23, to even the match.

Young recorded a kill and an ace to give Arcadia a 2-1 lead.

After several exchanges, the Knights went on a 4-0 run behind another kill and ace from Young to lead 13-9.

Archelle added a kill and Fryer served an ace to make it 15-10, but Salisbury answered with a 5-0 run to tie the set.

The teams traded points late, with Archelle tying it at 24-24, but Salisbury won the final two points to take a 2-1 lead.
Set Four: Salisbury 25 – Arcadia 12

Salisbury jumped ahead 9-3 early, with Arcadia's points coming off Seagull errors.

The Knights added kills from Archelle, Keer, and Saenz before Salisbury extended its lead to 14-6.

Archelle recorded an ace, and Rothschild and Young each added kills, but Salisbury closed out the set, 25-12, to win the match.
