HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team dropped a MAC Freedom Conference match on the road at Stevens on Tuesday evening in straight sets, falling 11-25, 13-25, and 12-25. With the loss, the Knights fell to 12-14 overall and 2-4 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE: Arcadia 11 – Stevens 25
• The Knights jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead behind an ace from Bryana Saenz and a kill from Devon Young before the Ducks responded with a 6-0 run.
• Arcadia attempted to rally, getting kills from Young, Maddie Gavin Ruple, Julia Archelle, Chana Rothschild, and Saenz.
• Stevens used several extended scoring runs throughout the remainder of the set to take the opener, 25-11.
SET TWO: Arcadia 13 – Stevens 25
• The Knights earned their first three points of the set on service errors from Stevens, but the Ducks pushed their lead to 10-3.
• Gavin Ruple and Rothschild each picked up kills to cut the lead to 14-8, but Stevens responded with a 4-0 run to extend its advantage.
• Arcadia got one final pair of kills from Young and Archelle before Stevens closed out the set, 25-13, to take a 2-0 lead.
SET THREE: Arcadia 12 – Stevens 25
• Following an ace from Kylie Strange and a kill by Rothschild, Arcadia led 4-2 before the Ducks used a 5-0 run to regain the lead, 7-4.
• Kills from Rothschild and Saenz, along with blocks from Gavin Ruple and Saenz, made it a 13-8 Stevens advantage.
• An 11-2 run by the Ducks put the set out of reach, as the Knights added a point off a service error and one final kill from Archelle before Stevens closed out the set and match, 25-12.
