YORK, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's swimming team wrapped up competition at the Spartan Splash, and after spending the first two days in fourth place, the Knights surged into second place to finish the meet with 531 points. The comeback was fueled by Francis Andersen's victory in the 200-yard butterfly and a strong runner-up finish from the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Matthew Drake, Andersen, Tommy Tubinas, and Kajuan Haughton.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• In the 1650-yard freestyle, Tommy Tubinas was Arcadia's top finisher, placing sixth at 17:46.49. George Mitev followed in eighth at 17:54.77, and AJ Benowitz added points with a 12th-place finish at 18:29.98.
• Matthew Drake led the Knights in the A-Finals of the 200-yard backstroke, finishing third at 1:56.13. Christopher Stanaway also reached the A-Finals and placed seventh in 2:02.16.
• In the 100-yard freestyle A-Finals, Kajuan Haughton secured a seventh-place finish with a time of 50.37.
• Mikalai Yakhimchyk represented Arcadia in the A-Finals of the 200-yard breaststroke and finished eighth at 2:21.93.
• Andersen claimed the 200-yard butterfly title, dropping four seconds from his prelim time to win in 1:57.42. Alex Pasquarello also reached the A-Finals and placed fourth at 2:03.36. Chris Carroll finished sixth at 2:08.35, followed closely by Owen Foley in seventh at 2:08.52. In the B-Finals, George Mitev took 13th in 2:10.93.
• The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Drake, Andersen, Tubinas, and Haughton earned a second-place finish at 3:16.86. The relay of Yakhimchyk, Carroll, Foley, and Stanaway placed ninth at 3:25.11.
• Drake also competed in the 100-yard breaststroke time trial, finishing in 58.98.
York won the Spartan Splash with 952 points. Arcadia climbed to second with 531 points, followed by Widener in third (493.5), Stevenson in fourth (451), Elizabethtown in fifth (422.5), Messiah in sixth (391), and Hood in seventh (119).

The Knights will take the Thanksgiving break before traveling for a dual meet at Kutztown on Saturday, December 6.
