Women's Ice Hockey Ties Hood in First Conference Matchup

FREDERICK, Md. – The Arcadia University women's ice hockey team tied Hood on Friday afternoon.

The score read 3-3 at the end of overtime before the Knights were able to capture the shootout 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Knights controlled possession early and often, generating consistent pressure.
- The Blazers blocked several key attempts from Kianna Saillant and Rheya Zemlak to keep the game even going into the second period.
- Arcadia struck first on a power play in the second period with the goal coming from Chloe Makinson.
- Hood evened the score four minutes later.
- Charlotte Siksik took the lead for the Knights with eight minutes remaining in the second period.
- The Blazers killed off the remaining seconds of the Knights carry-over power play to start the third period.
- Hood tied the game at two, eight minutes into the period.
- The Blazers took its first lead of the night, capitalizing on a power play.
- Coming out of an Arcadia timeout, Abbi Komrofske scored the equalizer to push the game to overtime.
- Both teams battled and held up remarkable defense to force the game to a shootout.
- Gabby Meger made two saves for the Knights to win the shootout 2-1.
