Softball Splits at FDU-Florham

MADISON, N.J. - The Arcadia University softball team split its Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) doubleheader at FDU-Florham on Saturday, taking game two 7-4 after falling 6-4 in game one.

FOR THE RECORD
-Arcadia stands at 2-2 in conference play after today's action.

-FDU-Florham is 1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME TWO: ARCADIA 7, FDU-FLORHAM 4
-Zoey Ritter opened the scoring in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly that brought home Nathalia DiIanni.

-Ritter doubled the lead in the third with a run-scoring groundout that scored Grace Caldwell.

-DiIanni and Caity Hinton each had RBI singled in the fourth to bring the lead to 4-0.

-After FDU-Florham closed the lead to 4-3, Sydney Steiner launched a two-run double as part of a three-run top of the seventh.

-Paige Nolan earned the win, allowing three runs in six innings with four walks and three strikeouts.

-Juliana Presto got Arcadia on the board in the top of the second when she brought home Hinton.

-Caldwell laced a three-run triple to right to put the Knights up 4-0 but was out at the plate trying for an inside-the-park home run.

-The Devils scored three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and two in the sixth unanswered.
