EWING, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's cross country team kicked off the 2025 season at the Blue/Gold Invitational hosted by TCNJ on Friday afternoon. As a team, the Knights placed third out of eight teams in the two-mile race. Leading the way for Arcadia was junior Maren Weaver, who broke the two-mile program record with a time of 12:25.10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Weaver's performance earned her fourth place overall and the new program record of 12:25.10.
• Close behind, Grace Curnow posted a strong 13th-place finish in 12:35.00, with Tia Leister also breaking the 13-minute mark at 12:47.90 to place 15th.
• Jackie Engler provided depth for the Knights in 28th place with a time of 13:47.10.
• First-year runner Taylor Huckzo made an impressive collegiate debut, rounding out the team's top five in 14:14.60.
• Emmy Brown-Varon and Sarah Heffernan paced each other in the middle of the field, finishing in 36th (14:21.50) and 43rd (14:28.20), respectively.
• Margaret Mead (47th, 15:05.40), Gianna Sube (48th, 15:22.40), and Bridget Jacobson (49th, 15:22.80) showcased tight pack running to move the Knights up in the standings.
• Sarah Agnew (50th, 15:38.60) and Emma Mae Jones (55th, 15:45.50) added additional depth in their season debuts.
• Jhane Owens closed out the Arcadia lineup, crossing the finish in 16:42.30.
UP NEXT
The Knights return to competition next Saturday when they travel to Annville, Pennsylvania, for the Dutchman Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College.
