Two Knights Earn MAC Player of the Week Honors

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its first installment of Player of the Week honors, and two Arcadia Knights were recognized following the opening weekend of competition.

Logan Watkins, a sophomore from Palm, Pennsylvania, helped the Knights men's soccer team go 1-0-1 on the week by scoring three goals across the first two matches of the season. On Friday afternoon at Haverford, Watkins tallied a brace in the first half, leading Arcadia to a 2-2 draw in the season opener. He followed that performance with another goal in the second minute of the Knights' home opener on Sunday, sparking a 3-1 non-conference victory over Alvernia.

On the cross country course, junior Brendan Blyth claimed Player of the Week honors after breaking the program record in the 5,000-meter race at the Blue/Gold Invitational hosted by TCNJ on Friday afternoon. Blyth finished eighth overall with his record-setting performance, helping the Knights secure second place in the six-team field. It was a strong team effort for Arcadia, as five Knights set new personal records in the season-opening race.

Looking ahead, the men's soccer team will host Cairn University on Wednesday evening at Jean Lenox West Field before welcoming Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon. The cross country team returns to action Saturday morning in Annville, Pennsylvania, for the Dutchman Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College.
