Women's Volleyball Sweeps Penn State Berks in Tri-Match

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Arcadia University Women's volleyball team split in non-conference action in a tri-match where they swept Penn State Berks (25-6, 25-7, 25-16) and fell to Elizabethtown 0-3 (18-25, 17-25, 15-25)

-The Knights move to 3-4.

-Penn State Berks fell to 0-1.

-Elizabethtown improve to 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

SET ONE: ARCADIA 25, PENN STATE BERKS 6

-Arcadia opened strong with a 6–0 run, led by kills from Chana Rothschild and Devon Young, plus a service ace from Kailyn Riggi.

-The Knights extended the lead with contributions from Kelsi Warner, Julia Archelle, and a pair of service points from Juliana Bockhaus, pushing it to 13–4.

-Penn State Berks stayed in the mix, but Arcadia kept control. 

-Arcadia closed the set on a dominant 11–0 surge, highlighting a block from Nina Corazo and Maddie Gavin Ruple, as well as back to back service aces from Bryana Saenz.

SET TWO: ARCADIA 25, PENN STATE BERKS 7

-Arcadia pulled ahead 6–3 after kills from Sarah Baker, Rothschild, and Corazo.

-Corazo notched another kill, followed by a big stretch of serves from Sydney Steiner.

-Final kills from Anna Keer and Young closed out set two. 

SET THREE: ARCADIA 25, PENN STATE BERKS 16

-The Knights opened the frame with a kill to take early 2–0 lead.

-Young powered through with back-to-back kills to push it to 6–2.

-Penn State Berks evened things up at 7.

-Riggi sparked Arcadia with a service ace and set up kills from Gavin Ruple and Sarah Baker.

-The Lions closed the gap and came within two.

-Bockhaus sealed the frame with back-to-back service aces and a kill.

SET ONE: ARCADIA 18, ELIZABETHTOWN 25

-Elizabethtown jumped out to a quick 3–0 lead.

-Kills from Rothschild and Archelle kept Arcadia within reach.

-Out of the timeout, Arcadia responded with kills from Young and Rothschild, narrowing its gap to 16–11. 

-The Blue Jays secured the set.

SET TWO: ARCADIA 17, ELIZABETHTOWN 25

-The set opened with kills from both teams.

-The Blue Jays stretched their advantage to 14–9.

-Arcadia answered with a kill from Archelle and a service ace by Warner to pull within 16–14.

-Elizabethtown sealed the set 25-17 to take a 2-0 match lead.

SET THREE: ARCADIA 15, ELIZABETHTOWN 25

-The Blue Jays grabbed an early lead.

-Arcadia responded with kills from Rothschild.

-The Knights stayed within reach coming from a service ace from Saenz and a kill from Archelle.

-Late in the set, Young and Corazo added kills for Arcadia.

-Elizabethtown took set three.
