MOHNTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule Tuesday at the Alvernia Fall Invitational, hosted at LedgeRock Golf Club. The Knights' A Team finished 10th in the 14-team field with a 331 (+43), while the B Team placed 13th with a 343 (+55) on the par-72 course. Landen Benner led the A Team with a 71 (-1), tying for first before finishing second following a tiebreaker.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A TEAM
Benner fired a 32 (-4) on the front nine, opening with a par before recording back-to-back birdies. After two pars, he added another birdie on the par-4 fifth hole. His only blemish on the front nine came on the par-5 seventh, but he quickly recovered with an eagle on the par-5 eighth. Benner shot a 39 (+3) on the back nine, birdieing the 10th hole before recording four consecutive pars. He closed his round with a par on the 18th hole to finish at 71 (-1).
Nicky Antonelli finished second among the Knights with a 79 (+7), tying for 22nd overall. He carded a 39 (+3) on the front nine, recording four pars and two birdies, including birdies on the par-4 third and fifth holes. Antonelli shot a 40 (+4) on the back nine, adding three pars and a birdie on the par-4 11th.
Hayden Williamson finished third for Arcadia with an 89 (+17), tying for 60th overall. He shot a 44 on the front nine, recording a birdie on the par-4 fifth hole and a par. Williamson followed with a 45 on the back nine, adding five more pars.
Tony Antonelli rounded out the team scoring with a 92 (+20), tying for 66th. He carded a 45 on the front nine with three pars before shooting a 47 on the back nine. Antonelli finished his round with consecutive pars on the 17th and 18th holes.
Graham Raymond finished 69th with a 94 (+22). He shot a 45 on the front nine, recording three pars, before carding a 49 on the back nine with one additional par. Raymond's score did not count toward the team total.
B TEAM
Caden Wistreich led the B Team with an 83 (+11), tying for 37th overall. He shot a 40 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 second hole and four pars. Wistreich carded a 43 on the back nine, recording five pars, including four consecutive pars.
Kyle Miller finished second for the B Team with an 85 (+13), tying for 45th. Miller shot a 43 on the front nine with four pars before improving to a 42 on the back nine. He recorded four additional pars and his lone birdie of the day on the par-4 12th hole.
Justin Madden finished third with an 87 (+15), tying for 54th. He carded a 43 on the front nine with six pars before shooting a 44 on the back nine, highlighted by a par and a birdie on the par-5 13th hole.
Jacksen Goobie rounded out the B Team's scoring with an 88 (+16), tying for 57th. He shot a 46 on the front nine with five pars before improving by four strokes on the back nine, carding a 42 with four additional pars.
Chad Jones finished tied for 66th with a 92 (+20). Jones shot a 48 on the front nine with two pars before carding a 44 on the back nine with four additional pars. His score did not count toward the team total.
