Women's Ice Hockey Explode for Ten Goals in Road Win at King’s

PITTSTON, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's ice hockey team returned to the win column in dominant fashion with a 10-1 victory over King's College on Saturday afternoon. The Knights improved to 16-6-2 overall and 14-5-1 in MAC play.

Eight different Knights found the back of the net, highlighted by a hat trick from Ava Glab and first career goals from Kylie Beers and Kylie Atzert. Arcadia controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Monarchs 52-11 and winning the faceoff battle, 39-60. Chloe Makinson and Grace Matthews each won 11 faceoffs to lead the Knights.

Arcadia went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the penalty kill unit successfully killed 3-of-4 King's opportunities. Kaylee Miller earned the start in goal and made 10 saves while allowing one goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• It took just 17 seconds for the Knights to strike, as Maeve Hourihan netted her eighth goal of the season off assists from Abbi Komrofske and Charlotte Siksik.
• Four minutes later, Rylie Duffy scored her third of the season on the power play, assisted by Chloe Makinson and Carys Jelley.
• Five minutes after that, Ava Glab tallied her first goal of the game and 11th of the season, assisted by Megan Sladish and Makinson, to make it 3-0.
• Glab added her second goal at 16:33 of the first period off assists from Haylee Kos and Kianna Saillant.
• Less than two minutes later, Kylie Beers scored her first career goal, assisted by Leah Hatcher, sending the Knights into the first intermission with a 5-0 lead.
• The scoring continued in the second period when Charlotte Siksik recorded her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Komrofske and Hannah Hurwitz.
• Glab completed the hat trick later in the period off an assist from Haylee Kos and Beers. She is now tied for second on the team with 13 goals and leads the team with 25 points.
• King's scored its lone goal with one second remaining in the second period, as Arcadia carried a 7-1 advantage into the third.
• Atzert netted her first career goal at 15:01 of the third period to extend the lead to 8-1.
• Just 39 seconds later, Grace Matthews scored her third goal of the season to make it 9-1.
Carys Jelley capped the scoring with her 13th goal of the season on a short-handed effort, assisted by Reece Plotnikoff and Makinson.
