HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Swarthmore won the opening faceoff and quickly generated a shot, but Hudgins made the save. On the Knights' ensuing possession, Arcadia drew a penalty after Will Kazmierski's shot sailed high, earning a man-up opportunity. The Knights were unable to convert on the extra-man chance.

  • After successfully killing the penalty, Swarthmore capitalized on its next possession to take a 1-0 lead. The Garnet then won the ensuing faceoff and quickly doubled their lead to 2-0.

  • Arcadia responded on the following possession when Anthony Mangini found the back of the net five minutes into the opening quarter to cut the deficit to 2-1.

  • Swarthmore answered with a 5-0 run to close the first quarter, taking a 7-1 lead into the second.

  • Early in the second quarter, Swarthmore hit the post on its first shot before Gavin Lenart collected the ground ball. After a successful clear, AJ Laibach scored to make it 7-2 just 90 seconds into the period.

  • The Garnet added two goals on consecutive possessions to extend their lead to 9-2. Following a Swarthmore turnover, Tristan Johnson scored his first of the game off an assist from Lenart to make it 9-3.

  • Just over three minutes later, Arcadia capitalized on another Garnet turnover as Connor Macklin scored off an assist from Mangini to trim the deficit to 9-4.

  • Swarthmore closed the half on a 3-0 run to take a 12-4 lead into the break.

  • Johnson opened the second-half scoring with his second goal of the game just over four minutes into the third quarter, this time off an assist from Dylan Garber.

  • Swarthmore responded with four goals in the quarter before Lenart scored with just under a minute remaining in the frame to make it 16-6.

  • In the fourth quarter, Garber scored on Arcadia's first possession following a Swarthmore turnover.

  • The Garnet answered with a goal of their own to extend the lead to 17-7.

  • Brockman won the ensuing faceoff, and after Jack Keenan collected the ground ball, Joey Ewald's initial shot went wide. On the reset, Ewald capitalized on his second attempt to make it 17-8.
