LITTLE RIVER, S.C. - The Arcadia University softball team opened its spring break trip down south with two wins, defeating SUNY Canton 8-4 before topping Stevenson 12-8.

-The Knights improved to 2-2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
ARCADIA 8, SUNY CANTON 4
-Arcadia opened the scoring in the bottom of the second with two runs.
-Canton took a 3-2 lead with three runs in the top of the third.
-
Alexa Kozarski lined a two-run single to center in the bottom of the third scoring
Sybella DeMaio and
Kritzie Diaz-Rivera to take a 4-3 lead.
-After Canton tied the score in the top of the fourth,
Sofia Forbito hit a sacrifice fly to left bringing home
Sadie Drozdowski,

Kiersten Murray brought in Diaz-Rivera in the bottom of the fifth as the Knights led 6-4.
-The Knights crossed the plate two more times in the sixth to finish the scoring.

Caity Hinton earned the win, allowing four runs (one earned) on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts in four innings.
-
Madison Noveck earned the save with three hitless innings of relief with zero walks and four strikeouts.

-Stevenson got the scoring started with a run in the top of the first.
-The Knights took the lead in the second with two runs.
-Diaz-Rivera increased the lead in the third with a double scoring
Kyleigh Mihalik, followed by an RBI from
Isabel Vitense that brought home Diaz-Rivera.
-Stevenson crossed the plate five times in the top of the fourth to take a 6-4 lead.
-Diaz-Rivera closed the gap to 6-5 in the bottom of the fourth with a single that scored DeMaio.
-The Mustangs pushed their lead to 8-6 in the top of the fifth.
-Diaz-Rivera, Hinton,
Mac Champion,
Samantha Edwards, Mihalik, and Murray each had RBI's in a seven run sixth that put Arcadia ahead for good.
-Champion earned the win in relief, allowing two runs (one earned) in three innings with one walk.
