GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's and women's tennis teams open their 2026 Spring Season on Thursday, March 26th as they host Muhlenberg for a 3:30pm match. The Knights look to have success under new head coach
Michael Melchiorre.
"Both teams have shown a tremendous amount of resilience and grit this year," Coach Melchiorre expressed when asked about the teams heading into the spring. "They're pumped to get the season started and earn some big results."
The men's squad returns five players and has one student-athlete entering their first spring season. Juniors
Aaron Allen,
Leo Dupont,
Bernardo Figueiredo,
Luis Figueiredo,
Kevin McHale and
Jason Small are looking to contribute to the team's 3-2 record. Sophomore
Stas Bazarov returns after a successful fall. First-year
Denim Horsford will look to contribute to the team's success in his first spring season.
The women have seven returners and two first-years on the team this season. Seniors
Emma Chobert,
Savannah Falk and
Leah Hatcher aim to have success in their final season as Knights. Juniors
Jaelyn DaSilva and
Jessie Friel also return for the season with the addition of
Kerline Bernard. Sophomores
Nicole Scannapieco and
Jada Young are back with a year and a half of experience under their belts. First-years
Kaylee Higgins and
Michelle Planita look to contribute to the team's success in their first spring.
When asked about his expectations, Coach Melchiorre said "the main expectation is, and always will be, making the MAC Freedom playoffs. None of the players are satisfied with the status quo. They're looking to turn some heads this season and they've been putting in the work to make that happen."
The Knights kick off the 2026 season this Thursday vs Muhlenberg on the Weiss Tennis Courts. First serve is at 3:30 pm.
