GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's volleyball team opened MAC Freedom play Wednesday evening at the Kuch Center, hosting No. 4 Stevens Institute of Technology. The Knights (6-9, 0-1 MAC Freedom) fell in straight sets to the Ducks, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.
Tucker Curtis paced the offense with 12 kills, while Riley Kodidek dished out 25 assists to go along with two service aces and 12 digs. Luka Erickson anchored the defense at the net with six blocks. Josh Clendening added seven kills, and Cameron Birch chipped in five.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE: Stevens 25, Arcadia 17

Arcadia took an early 1-0 lead on a Stevens attack error, but the Ducks answered with back-to-back kills to move in front.

Pete Smith recorded the Knights' first kill to tie the set, and Tucker Curtis later stopped a 3-0 Stevens run with a kill.

Cameron Birch and Smith added kills, and a Riley Kodidek service ace gave Arcadia a 9-8 advantage.

The teams traded points before Stevens used a 7-1 run to pull ahead, 19-12.

Curtis and Luka Erickson responded with consecutive kills to cut the deficit to 19-14, and Josh Clendening added a late kill, but the Ducks closed out the opener, 25-17.
SET TWO: Stevens 25, Arcadia 20

Curtis and Erickson delivered early kills as the Knights trimmed the deficit to 5-3.

A 4-0 Stevens run was halted by a Birch kill. Following a Ducks service error, back-to-back kills from Clendening brought Arcadia within three, 11-8.

Erickson and Curtis combined for a block assist to make it 13-10, but Stevens extended its lead to 19-14.

Curtis recorded two late kills, but the Ducks secured the second set, 25-20.
SET THREE: Stevens 25, Arcadia 19

Birch opened the scoring for Arcadia, tying the set at 1-1. Erickson followed with a kill to even the score at 2-2, and a block assist from Erickson and Kodidek gave the Knights their first lead of the set.

Kodidek and Curtis added kills to keep Arcadia within striking distance, and Clendening stopped a 3-0 Stevens run with a kill.

Erickson recorded another kill and teamed with Kodidek for a block assist to cut the deficit to 12-11.

The Knights received three kills from Curtis, along with one each from Clendening and Birch, to stay within five at 22-17.

A final block assist by Curtis and Erickson brought late energy, but Stevens closed the set and completed the sweep.
