ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
The Knights defeated No. 3 Lebanon Valley, 4-1, in the MAC Semifinal matchup on February 28. Arcadia fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but just over a minute later first-year Chloe Makinson tied the game at 1-1 heading into the first intermission. From there, the Knights controlled the remainder of the game.
Makinson added her second goal of the contest in the second period, and Rheya Zemlak also found the back of the net later in the frame to give Arcadia a 3-1 lead entering the final period. In the third, Haylee Kos intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and skated in on a breakaway, scoring an insurance goal to seal the 4-1 victory and send the Knights back to the MAC Championship game.
Arcadia enters the championship with an 18-6-2 overall record and finished conference play at 15-5-1. First-year Chloe Makinson leads the team with 18 goals and 31 points. Earlier today, Makinson was named MAC Rookie of the Year and earned All-MAC Second Team honors. Senior captain Leah Hatcher received All-MAC First Team honors, while first-year Ava Glab and junior Phoebe Roberts joined Makinson on the All-MAC Second Team.
Makinson, Glab, and Roberts rank among the team's top point producers with 31, 27, and 26 points, respectively, while Carys Jelley is also tied with 26 points on 13 goals and 13 assists. In goal, Gabby Meger has been the primary netminder for the Knights this season. In her first year with the program, she has posted a 9-5-1 record with a 2.15 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage, and one shutout.
Defensively, seniors Leah Hatcher, Abbi Komrofske, and Rheya Zemlak anchor the blue line. The trio has combined for 91 blocked shots this season while helping hold opponents to just 1.8 goals per game.
