High-Powered Women's Lacrosse Down Immaculata, 18-3

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance on the road Saturday afternoon, defeating Immaculata University 18-3. The Knights improve to 5-0 on the season.

Arcadia was led offensively by Avery Ditze, who scored five goals. Jaylee Killgore added four goals, while Meghan Graham recorded three. Mackenzie Clark and Jordyn Chan each finished with two goals, and Samantha Gambone and Alejandra Roemer also found the back of the net.

The Knights controlled the game statistically, holding advantages in shots (35-18), shots on goal (28-7), ground balls (28-23), and turnovers, committing just 12 compared to Immaculata's 24. Arcadia also finished 17-for-19 on clear attempts while holding the Mighty Macs to 11-for-18. The lone category Immaculata led was draw controls, 13-9.

Taylor Funcheon earned the win in goal, playing the first three quarters and making four saves while allowing two goals. Angelina Vecchione played the fourth quarter, recording two saves while allowing one goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, striking in under a minute. After an early turnover, Alejandra Roemer forced a takeaway and Ella Longacre collected the ground ball. Meghan Graham's shot was saved, but Jaylee Killgore gathered the rebound and found Mackenzie Clark, who assisted Roemer for her second goal of the season.

• One minute later, Avery Ditze scored her 12th goal of the season to make it 2-0. Roughly a minute after that, Ditze struck again off an assist from Longacre to extend the lead.

• With five minutes remaining in the first quarter, Killgore scored her 12th of the season. Just 50 seconds later, Graham added her fifth goal of the year off an assist from Killgore to push the lead to 5-0.

• With under two minutes remaining in the quarter, Ditze netted her 14th goal of the season. Less than a minute later, Mackenzie Clark scored her sixth of the year, giving the Knights a 7-0 advantage heading into the second quarter.

• Graham continued the momentum early in the second quarter, scoring her sixth goal of the season off an assist from Claudia Grello.

• Killgore made it 9-0 after Allyson Reidenbach caused a turnover and picked up the ground ball.

• Immaculata scored its first goal of the game during an extra-man opportunity while Arcadia was on the penalty kill.

• After Jordyn Chan's initial shot was saved, Graham scored her seventh goal of the season on a pass from Chan. Off the ensuing draw control, Ditze scored her 15th goal of the year to extend the lead to 11-1.

• Immaculata added one more goal before halftime, as the Knights carried an 11-2 lead into the break.

• In the third quarter, Chan, Ditze, and Clark each scored early goals to extend the lead to 14-2. With 90 seconds remaining in the quarter, Killgore scored a short-handed goal off an assist from Reidenbach.

• Two minutes into the fourth quarter, Chan added another goal off an assist from Killgore.

• Five minutes later, Killgore recorded her fourth goal of the game on a feed from Longacre.

Samantha Gambone capped the scoring with under five minutes remaining, converting on a man-up opportunity for her second goal of the season.
