Men's Lacrosse Dominate Del Val, Retain Bucks-Mont Hammer

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team opened MAC Freedom play in dominant fashion, defeating Delaware Valley, 20–7, Wednesday evening in the Battle for the Bucks-Mont Hammer. The Knights improve to 7–4 overall and 1–0 in conference action.

Since the rivalry trophy's inception in 2016, Arcadia has now won eight of the nine meetings, including each of the last seven contests.

Alex Greenberg led the offensive surge with five goals, while Tristan Johnson added three. Sean Perkinson and Quinn Finnegan each scored twice, and Gavin Lenart, Reilly Robichaud, Joey Ewald, Mason Barndt, Colin Brockman, AJ Laibach, Brendan Geraghty, and Layne Williams each found the back of the net.

Arcadia controlled the game in all phases, outshooting the Aggies 87–21, including a 60–16 advantage in shots on goal. The Knights forced 24 turnovers while committing just 12, went a perfect 23-for-23 on clears, and held Delaware Valley to 25-for-31. Arcadia also dominated the ground ball battle, 52–28, and the faceoff X, winning 25 of 31 attempts. Brockman led the effort, going 14-for-15, while Darian Good (7-for-9), Joe Rawlins (3-for-4), and Kyle Laub (2-for-3) also contributed.

Nate Hudgins started in goal and made two saves in a scoreless first quarter. Joseph Tesler played the second quarter, recording one save while allowing three goals. Marco D'Alicandro earned the win with four saves in the third quarter, allowing two goals. Carter Mostecki and Joey Connolly split time in the fourth, combining for two saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Arcadia struck first just under three minutes into the game after forcing a turnover, as Greenberg scored off an assist from Johnson.

• Greenberg added a second goal later in the quarter, and Ewald followed after a faceoff win by Brockman to extend the lead to 3–0.

• Robichaud pushed the lead to 4–0 after collecting a ground ball, and Greenberg completed a first-quarter hat trick to make it 5–0.

• Johnson scored back-to-back goals, and Brockman capped the opening quarter with a transition goal in the final seconds to give Arcadia an 8–0 lead.

• Perkinson opened the second-quarter scoring off an assist from Ewald, and Johnson followed to make it 10–0.

• Delaware Valley got on the board with an extra-man goal, but Finnegan quickly answered to restore momentum.

• Laibach added a goal off a turnover, and despite two late Aggie goals, Arcadia took a 12–3 lead into halftime.

• Greenberg scored twice to open the third quarter, including one off an assist from Finnegan, extending the lead to 15–3.

• Lenart added a shorthanded goal, and Geraghty scored later in the quarter as Arcadia built a 17–5 advantage heading into the fourth.

• Delaware Valley opened the final quarter with a goal, but Williams answered off an assist from Kyle Schiller.

• Perkinson added an extra-man goal, and Barndt closed out the scoring as the Knights secured the 20–7 victory.
