Men's Lacrosse Falls to No. 10 Stevens

GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team suffered its first MAC Freedom setback on Saturday afternoon, falling to No. 10 Stevens Institute, 27-4. The Knights move to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Arcadia received two goals from Alex Greenberg, while Gavin Lenart and AJ Laibach each added one. Stevens held the advantage in shots, shots on goal, ground balls, clears, and faceoffs. The Knights converted their lone extra-man opportunity (1-for-1), while the Ducks went 3-for-5.

Colin Brockman led Arcadia with four ground balls and went 6-for-15 at the faceoff X. Joe Rawlins finished 4-for-7, and Darian Good went 2-for-12. Defensively, Ryan Gannon and Jack Keenan each caused two turnovers.

Nate Hudgins started in goal and made 14 saves in the first half, while Joseph Tesler recorded seven saves in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Hudgins came up with two early saves to keep Stevens off the board, but a turnover led to the game's opening goal, giving the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
• Following a faceoff win by Brockman, Kyle Schiller found AJ Laibach for his 18th goal of the season, tying the game at 1-1 with under 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter.
• Stevens responded with a 7-0 run to close the quarter and take an 8-1 lead into the second.
• The Ducks added two more early in the second before Hudgins sparked a transition opportunity, finding Lenart, who assisted Greenberg for his 19th goal of the season.
• Stevens carried a 14-2 advantage into halftime.
• The Ducks controlled the third quarter, holding Arcadia scoreless while extending the lead to 21-2.
• Stevens opened the fourth with two more goals before a penalty gave Arcadia a man-up opportunity. Lenart capitalized, scoring off an assist from Dylan Garber.
• The Ducks added four more goals before Greenberg netted his second of the game, assisted by Lenart, to close out the scoring.
