MENDHAM, N.J. – The Arcadia University women's golf team opened its spring season with a victory over FDU-Florham in a dual match at Mendham Golf & Tennis Club. The Knights posted a team score of 404 to defeat the Devils, who finished at 424. The par-72 course played at 5,152 yards.
Taylor Gardner led the way for Arcadia, earning medalist honors with a round of 80 (+8). The 80 for Gardner is a new career-low for the senior, which included a hole-out from 150 yards on the 10th hole for an eagle. Katherine Gaffney followed with a second-place finish after carding a 95 (+23).
Kylie Beers placed seventh with a 114 (+42), while Christy Gori finished tied for eighth with a 115 (+43). Gianni Straughter rounded out the scoring for the Knights, finishing 10th with a 126 (+54). Laini Scott also competed, placing 11th with a 134 (+62).
FDU-Florham was led by Katie Blair, who placed third with a 96 (+24). Emma Letizia finished fourth with a 104 (+32), while Juliana Polanco and Lily Hodgson tied for fifth with scores of 112 (+40). Kylie Miralles tied for eighth with a 115 (+43).
