ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's lacrosse team dropped a MAC Freedom contest on the road Wednesday afternoon, falling to Lebanon Valley College, 17-6. The Knights move to 12-4 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Jaylee Killgore led Arcadia with three goals, while Mackenzie Clark, Ella Longacre, and Jordyn Chan each added one. Lebanon Valley held the advantage in shots (32-15), shots on goal (20-9), ground balls (29-12), and draw controls (16-9).
Taylor Funcheon made the start in goal and recorded seven saves. Claudia Grello led the Knights with four ground balls, while Longacre added two caused turnovers and a team-high three draw controls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• After an early save from Funcheon, Arcadia generated its first opportunity, and following a defensive stop, Killgore opened the scoring with her 56th goal of the season off an assist from Longacre to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.
• With just over seven minutes remaining in the first quarter, Arcadia forced another turnover, and Clark capitalized with her 28th goal of the season to extend the lead to 2-0.
• Lebanon Valley responded with three straight goals to close the quarter and take a 3-2 lead.
• Longacre tied the game at 3-3 after forcing a turnover, collecting the ground ball, and scoring her 20th goal of the season.
• The Flying Dutchmen answered with a 5-0 run before Killgore netted her second goal during a player-up opportunity to cut the deficit to 8-4.
• Lebanon Valley added two more goals to carry a 10-4 lead into halftime.
• The Flying Dutchmen opened the second half with two goals before Killgore completed her hat trick, scoring her 58th of the season.
• Following another Lebanon Valley goal, Chan converted on a man-up opportunity off an assist from Killgore to make it 13-6 at the end of the third quarter.
• Lebanon Valley closed out the game with four goals in the fourth quarter to secure the 17-6 victory.
