Baseball Sweeps Misericordia to Secure Home Field in Conference Semifinals

DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia University baseball team secured home field in the semifinals of the 2026 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Tournament with a doubleheader sweep at Misericordia on Sunday, taking game one 5-4 before notching a 17-10 win in game two.

FOR THE RECORD
-The Knights finished the regular season with a 15-6 record in conference play and 24-13 overall.

-Misericordia fell to 14-7 and 26-14, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE: ARCADIA 5, MISERICORDIA 4
-Misericordia opened the scoring with two runs in the bottom of the first.

-Will Childs for Arcadia on the board in the top of the third with a single to center that brought home Max Oswald.

-The Knights scored four times in the top of the fifth as Simon Abdullah tripled to score Oswald, Taro Pustilnik laid down a squeeze bunt to bring in Si. Abdullah, and Noah Stennett lined a two run single to center bringing in Eric Shandler and Hunter Dicarlantonio.

-Will Buchan earned the win, allowing four runs in 6.1 innings with three walks and five strikeouts.

-Gavin Kincs took his fourth save, pitching the final 2/3 of the final inning.

GAME TWO: ARCADIA 17, MISERICORDIA 10
-The Knights opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the first on a bases-loaded walk from Oswald, an infield single from Si. Abdullah, a sacrifice fly from Childs, and a run-scoring groundout off the bat of Jake Keirstead.

-Misericordia tied the score in the bottom of the inning with four runs.

-Si. Abdullah gave Arcadia the lead back in the top of the second with a bases-loaded walk bringing in Wheeler.

-The Cougars scored one in the third and two in the fourth to jump back in front 7-5.

-Stennett evened the score again in the top of the fifth with a two-run homer to left bringing home Wheeler.

-After Misericordia crossed the plate twice in the bottom of the fifth, the Knights exploded for five runs in the sixth, one in the seventh, and two each in the eighth and ninth to finish the scoring.

-Dicarlantonio earned the win, allowing five runs in seven innings with zero walks and four strikeouts.

UP NEXT
-With the sweep, Arcadia clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, and will host Misericordia in the semifinal scheduled to begin next Friday at Skip Wilson Field. The Knights return to action on Tuesday when they face Penn State Abington for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference game at Skip Wilson Field.
