Men’s Soccer Falls to Stockton in Late-Game Thriller

GLENSIDE, Pa. – In a back-and-forth battle that saw the Knights rally twice to level the score, Arcadia University men's soccer fell to Stockton University, 3-2, Monday night at home. Elijah Kaba and Brayden Perry each found the back of the net for the Knights, but Stockton delivered the difference maker in the 83rd minute to escape with the victory. Arcadia falls to 1-2-2 on the season, while Stockton improves to 1-3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stockton opened the scoring in the 30th minute, taking a 1-0 advantage.
  • The Knights quickly answered, finding the equalizer just 50 seconds later. A Stockton defender missed on a slide tackle just outside the six-yard box, allowing Kaba to maintain his balance and finish the chance to bring the match level at 1-1 heading into the half.
  • Coming out of the break, Stockton regained the lead in the 55th minute, putting the Ospreys back in front, 2-1.
  • Once again, Arcadia responded. In the 69th minute, the Knights earned a penalty kick after a foul in the box. Perry stepped to the spot and calmly converted the chance, leveling the match at 2-2.
  • With the game still deadlocked, Arcadia nearly grabbed its first lead of the night in the 82nd minute. Juan Pozo put a chance on target, but the Stockton goalkeeper came up with the save to keep the match tied.
  • Just one minute later, the Ospreys scored in the 83rd minute to take a 3-2 lead, ultimately holding off the Knights for the road victory.
