Knights claim top honors in four events but lose dual meet to Goucher

BALTIMORE, MD:  (Nov. 20, 2010) -  [Results] Arcadia University Men's and Women's Swimming traveled to Baltimore, MD Saturday to take on non-conference host Goucher College.  Despite the loss for both teams, the Knights claimed first place medals in four events.  Final scores were Men (Goucher 105-70) and Women (Goucher 105-87).  Steve Haasis '11 won the 200 Free (2:08.71), Oliver McCormick '13 won the 500 Free (5:19.47), Danielle DiSanto '11 earned top honors in the 200 Backstroke (2:32.82) while Tess Geib '12 claimed first place in the 100 Free (1:01.84).  Both Knight teams sit at 1-5 on the season with their next meet occuring on Dec. 1 when they travel to the Main Line to Bryn Mawr College for a double-dual (Cabrini-Bryn Mawr-Arcadia). 

For Arcadia's women swimmers, Catey Nunnari '13 placed 2nd in the 1000 Free (12:10.36) and took third in the 500 Free (6:05.76).  Stephanie Bartolotta '11 placed 2nd in both the 200 Free (2:11.77) and 200 Breaststroke (2:53.46) while Rebecca Wenner 'GR finished 2nd in the 200 Back (2:33.50).  Third place times included Lindsay Mills '13 in the 50 Free (28.36), DiSanto '11 in the 200 IM (2:33.43), Gina Ruppert '11 in the 200 Fly (2:36.67) and Caitlin Culhane '12 in the 200 Breaststroke (3:01.22) to lead the Knights. 

In the men's events, McCormick added a silver to his gold in the 500 Free, placing 2nd in the 1000 Free (10:57.64) and Jason Sharpe '11 placed 2nd in the the 200 Breaststroke (2:34.24).  Bronze medal winners included Patrick Ward '13 in both the 100 Free (57.65) and 50 Free (26.24), Sharpe took third in the 200 IM (2:15.96), Sean Robinson '14 3rd in the 200 Backstroke (2:19.10) and Dillon Grady '13 3rd in the 200 Breaststroke (2:45.59).
