Women win two at Goucher Double-Dual

BALTIMORE, Md.:  Arcadia University Swimming competed at a non-conference double-dual meet hosted by Goucher College on Saturday afternoon ending with the women's squad earning two wins over both the host Gophers (56-39) and Gallaudet University (84-11) to even their early season record at 3-3.  The men's squad lost to Goucher 64-30 and finished tied with Gallaudet with 47 points apeice.

Leading the pack for the Knights was sophomore Tara Nuzzo (Mahwah, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) who earned two individual wins, sprinting her way to first in the 50 Free (26.26) and again in the 100 Free (59.16) and junior Arielle Fry (Telford, PA/Souderton) taking the Knights' top distance times, capturing golds in the 1000 Freestyle (12:04.07) and in the 500 Freestyle (5:48.16). 

First year Laura Miller (York, PA/Dallastown) won the 200 IM (2:28.44) and swam the first leg of the winning 400 Free Relay team that captured gold (3:59.81) at the meet's close.  Nuzzo, senior Tess Geib (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson), first year Whitney Boeckel (York, PA/Spring Grove) also assisted in the 400 Relay win.  Earlier in the meet, Geib placed first overall in the 200 Butterfly (2:29.90) and Boeckel swam to a top time in the 200 Backstroke (2:16.67). 

Arcadia's men, now 2-3-1 were led by sophomore Oliver McCormick (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South), taking the distance win in the 1000 Free (10:58.85) and first year Alex Ganguzza (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ/Hasbrouck) who won first in the 200 Butterfly (2:07.76).

The Knights next compete at the Bryn Mawr Meet against the host Owls (women only) anc Carbini College (men/women) on Nov. 30.
