Peake-Samson Lone Winners at Alvernia

READING, Pa., Tuesday, April 12, 2011-- Graduate student Irina Samson and first-year Jasmine Peake claimed the only singles victories for Arcadia University in their Commonwealth Conference Women's Tennis match at Alvernia University on Monday afternoon. The loss leaves the Knights in still in the hunt for the first league win of the season.

Playing No. 3 singles, Peake topped Jennifer Innamorato 6-4, 6-3 while at No. 5 singles, Samson ran past Laura Ehnes 6-3, 6-1. Junior Megan Gillespie gave a valiant effort at top singles but it would be Alvernia's top ace Jenny McKee taking the match 6-3, 6-4.
