Messiah Dispatches Knights in League Play

GLENSIDE, Pa., Friday, April 2, 2011-- Messiah College Women's Tennis did not allow a point to host Arcadia University in Saturday's home doubleheader Commonwealth Conference tennis match, defeating the Knights 9-0. The women, playing in conjunction with the men's team, who also lost by a 9-0 margin to the Falcons, gave their best effor in doubles play and at No. 3 singles.

Junior Sophia Japhet and first-year Jasmine Peake teamed at No. 2 doubles and fell by three points after a hard fought match, 8-5 with Messiah's Kristen Chen and Cassie Beck registering the win.  Japhet would go on to extend the second set at No. 3 Singles against Beck, after dropping the first set 3-6, she would eventually succumb in the second set by a 6-7 score. 

The Knights have Alvernia University next on their Commonwealth Conference schedule.
