JEFFERSONVILLE, Pa.: Arcadia University Golf opened up their fall season Wednesday, competing at the Chestnut Hill College Fall Classic at the Par 70 Westover Country Club. Senior
Kevin Gallagher (Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) shot a 76 (+6,) finishing in a three-way tie for 6th place overall to lead the Knights. As a team, Arcadia placed 7th (+69) in the 8 team field, ahead of host Chestnut Hill.
Penn State Abington earned first place overall (+21) out-stoking second place finisher Goldey-Beacom (+22) by one, Dominican College (+37) placed third, and Elizabethtown College (+55) fourth. Finishing in a tie for 5th were Rosemont College (+57) and the University of the Sciences with the host Griffins placing 8th (+72).
Sophomore
Shannon Massott (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) shot an 85 (+16) and tied for 27th overall while newcomer
Colin Pippert (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) carded an 86 (+17), placing 31st overall. Junior
Corey Cedermark (Vineland, NJ/Sacred Heart) and first year
Daniel Schiffert (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) tied for 38th by shooting 100 (+30).
The Knights hit the links again Monday, Sept. 19 when they travel to Swarthmore College at Rock Manor Golf Club.
