Massott leads golfers at Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa.: Sophomore Shannon Massott (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) shot a team best 84 to lead Arcadia University Golf at the Swarthmore College Fall Invitational Monday afternoon at Rock Manor Golf Club, a Par 71 course.

Massot, shaved two strokes off last week's outing at Chestnut Hill and finished in a five-way deadlock for 30th overall in the 73-person field.

Joining Massott with a solid day on the links were junior Corey Cedermark (Vineland, NJ/Sacred Heart) and first year Daniel Schiffert (Lansdale, PA/North Penn), finishing in a tie for 75th overall after shooting a 100, tying their season best mark to date.

First year Colin Pippert (Lansdale, PA/North Penn) shot an 89 to place second overall for the Knights, landing in a two-way tie for 45th overall in the field. First year William LaRicca (Verona, NJ/Verona) carded a 105, rounding out Arcadia's team scores.

Host Swarthmore out-performed the 14-team field, shooting a +21 over par while Rosemont finished as runners-up with +34. As a team, Arcadia placed 13th at +89 over par.

The Knights move on to compete at the Lebanon Valley College Fall Invitational on Oct. 3.
