Search gives Knights 1-0 win in Men's Soccer

GLENSIDE, Pa.:  [Box Score] A goal by sophomore forward Dean Search (Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) scored at 14:01 stood uncontested for the next 76 minutes as Arcadia University Men's Soccer held on to win their second straight in shutout fashion over visiting Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham in non-conference play Saturday morning.  With today's win, the Knights improve to 2-0.

Junior midfielder Zach Todd (Cape May Courthouse, NJ/Middle Twp.) crafted a pass through to Search, creating a breakaway opportunity for the sophomore, who found the right side of the net open past FDU keeper Tim Kirk, giving Arcadia the early advantage.

The Knights were able to generate more offense, sending 6 more shots into the FDU keeper, but failed to convert on an insurance tally.  Meanwhile, the Arcadia defense, for the second straight contest, closed down on the FDU attack, allowing the Red Devils just one good look at sophomore keeper Ryan Lantzy (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville).  Lantzy turned away that shot and went onto to play to his second straight shutout in three days.  FDU drops to 0-2 with today's loss.

Arcadia wraps up their three-game home stand this Tuesday, Sept. 6, hosting area rival Swarthmore College at 4 PM.
