Arcadia Men's Tennis Blanked by Lebanon Valley

ANNVILLE, PA:  Originally scheduled to be played as a men's & women's doubleheader, today's Commonwealth Conference match went off as a single affair after a delayed start with the host Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College defeating Arcadia University 9-0 in this afternoon's league opener.

It is the second straight shut-out for Lebanon Valley who remains unbeaten at home to improve to 9-4 overall on the season (1-0 CC). The Knights fall to 1-4 overall (0-1 CC).

At No. 1 Singles, Arcadia's Chris Finney '12 battled with LVC's Ethan Grodzinski and fell 5-7, 2-6 while Marc Ruggia '14 was held pointless against LVC's Roger van Scyoc at No. 2 Singles.

Opposing each other at No. 3 Singles were Jeremy Garcia '15 for the Knights and LVC's Ryan Weitzel.  Weitzel took the first set 6-2 but was forced to show his hand in set two as Garcia fought tooth and nail and forced a second-set tie-breaker, coming up short with Weitzel winning 7-6 (2).

Patrick Rohrbaugh '14 was defeated at No. 4 Singles by Andrew Wilson 6-2, 6-3 while Sam Calabria topped the Knight's David Battistelli '15, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 Singles.

Arcadia gets right back to work tomorrow with a Sunday men's & women's non-conference doubleheader at King's College.  Match time is scheduled for 12 Noon.
