Second, Third Doubles Bright Spots in Knights Loss at King's

WILKES-BARRE, PA:  Overcast skies and threats of rain welcomed Arcadia University Men's Tennis to Kirby Park where they met host King's College in today's non-conference match.  The squads began the day playing pro-set singles matches before a heated doubles lineup, where the Knights took two of the three matches. Those matches turned out to be the Knight's lone points of the day as the Monarchs claimed the 7-2 victory.

After a tough set-back in Commonwealth play just a day ago, the Knights faced a seasoned King's (6-8 overall) squad that recently ran past Albright College 9-0 on Wednesday.  Arcadia's Chris Finney '12 and Marc Ruggia '14 proved to be King's toughest challenges in singles competition but they both were defeated by identical 8-4 scores as the Monarchs swept today's singles competition.

No. 3 Pat Rohrbaugh '14, No. 5 Andrew Duong '14 and No. 6 Mitchell Narazov '15 each lost by 8-1 margins to King's while Max Amiel '12 was defeated 8-2 at No. 4.

Amiel, paring with Dean Search '14 earned a thrilling 8-5 win at No. 3 Doubles over King's Anders Larson/Brenden Thorton.  Also adding to the Knight's production was the Rohrbaugh/Narazov tandem who knocked off King's Nick Conte/Matt Grassi 8-6.  Battling at No. 1 were Finney and Ruggia against King's top duo Tony Bevevino/Jake Rohring with Arcadia's pair falling by a narrow 7-9 result.

Arcadia (1-5 overall) looks for a return to the win column when they travel to non-conference foe Rosemont College this Tuesday, April 3 for a 4 p.m. match.
