Molloy Surpasses 40-Goal Mark Against Freedom Foe FDU

GLENSIDE, PA. (April 10, 2012) – Just eleven games into her first collegiate campaign, Haylee Molloy '15 surpassed the 40-goal mark, scoring five goals, with four coming in the second half for Arcadia University Women's Lacrosse in today's 15-7 set-back against visiting Freedom Conference rival Farleigh Dickinson University-Florham.

Arcadia remains in search of their first league victory, falling to 4-7 overall (0-3 FC) while the Devils sit tied atop the league standings (2-0 FC) with Eastern, improving to 6-5 overall.

The start of the first half went back and forth until FDU scored 4 unanswered to go into the half up 7-2. FDU's Katie Rolwood had 2 of her team-high 5 goals in the opening stanza.  Molloy and Jaclyn Feffer '15 each netted unassisted tallies to put AU on the board at 22:26 and 13:07 respectively.

FDU's Courtney Rendinaro opened the 2nd half with a free position shot and Rolwood added another one shortly after to put the Devils in front 9-2.  Molloy, the Knight's leading scorer, managed to elude a swarm of FDU defenders and heated up the offense scoring AU's next 3 goals, the third on a free-position to cut into FDU's lead 10-5.  However, the Devils spoiled Arcadia's chances, outscoring the Knights 5-2 over the final 16 minutes.

Rolwood finished with 5 for FDU along with teammate Nicole Peotter's 3. In addition to Molloy's team high, Feffer was the only other Knight to score and finished with 2 goals.

FDU outshot the Knights 38-23. Arcadia starting keeper Deanna Thompson '13 made her presence known with a big first half, challenging the Devils on repeated occasions and recorded 10 saves while her counterpart Patricia Samms added 14 for the victors.

The Knights look to avenge today's set-back when Freedom Conference rival Wilkes University visits Glenside this Saturday for a 1 p.m. start on Easton Field.
